Research

We focus our research on studying the basic chemistry of polyunsaturated carbonyl compounds, both ketones and aldehydes, with particular interest in unveiling novel domino processes. By doing so we expect to develop efficient processes towards the synthesis of important cyclic and polycyclic scaffolds present in natural products and materials of synthetic and medicinal importance, with particular emphasis on finding new antiviral and anticancer molecules.
